Position Name: PM/Senior Software Architect
Job Summary:
A PM/Senior Software Architect needs strong technical skills, strong communications capabilities, and the ability to manage time wisely since the role requires the individual to coach and support multiple teams on solutions. The PM/Senior Software Architect provides very hands on day to day coaching and support for architects in all phases of a project in aspects such as systems architecture, reuse, development processes, technical direction and mentoring of the team.

A PM/Senior Software Architect is a leader and role model to multiple projects and a large number of people, providing technical leadership and mentoring on projects from beginning to end, with emphasis not only on excellent initial design and/or package experience, but also on creative problem resolution in a multi-disciplinary environment. The Senior Software Architect needs to be able to recognize the times where he/she needs to provide very specific leadership skills to the team(s) that are in need. Similarly, the Senior Software Architect must understand the risks, issues, and potential areas of concern are with the project on an ongoing basis.
Key Responsibilities:


· Become familiar with corporate systems including their current design and usage.
· Become familiar and competent with the corporate development framework and platform.
· Manage development, deployment and operational support on this platform.
· Guide the design, user interface and technology integration for new projects, maintenance and enhancement programming, migration issues for legacy integration, etc.
· Review and advise the teams on the practice of maintaining logical and scalable solution architectures, make recommendations for improvement as necessary.
· Keep abreast of developing technologies and issues, and teach teams about the implications of the use of such technologies.
· Guide teams and architects in using development standards. Help teams modify the known approaches in order to meet the client drivers

· Interface with corporate core technology team, and management.

· Understand the bigger picture of the technological delivery and implementation of strategy.
· Gather information on enterprise wide trends at the company and help staff understand how to design for changes in the target solution based on those changes.
· Mature system design skills and articulate, explain and teach the team about tradeoffs in approach (e.g. development strategies), scope inclusion (e.g. a features relative cost against time, money), and quality focus (e.g. time to market vs. flexibility) during each phase of a project.
· Able to communicate to other parts of the multidisciplinary teams the constraints and opportunities that the technology may have, as it relates to corporate strategies.
· Manage 20+ individuals in such career aspects as new hire integration, staffing, training, formal feedback, compensation adjustment, career development and role growth.
Job Requirements:
· Minimum of 1 years of work experience

Knowledge of multiple technologies, including, but not limited to: Linux, Python (or other modern scripting language), SQL, XHTML, DHTML, XML, Javascript (jQuery experience is a plus), Java, CGI, PL/SQL. The following technologies are also of secondary interest: VBScript, Visual Basic, ASP, IIS, Flash. Understands one set of these technologies well, and has a broad understanding of how competing technologies can be compared.
· Experience estimating, designing, and implementing n-tier architectures is a requirement.
· Proven leadership capabilities in multi-disciplinary environment, especially the ability to help teams get a consistent picture of the problem space
· Bachelor’s in a related field or equivalent experience
· Strong familiarity/expertise with the end to end implications and technologies of large scale networked systems, is required. (This includes the ability to clearly explain issues of reliability, scalability, and extensibility with respect to the product suites available)
· Mature design skills, can articulate and explain tradeoffs to the customer in a credible way during each phase of a project. Can teach the team members to do the same.
